1. What is Digital Marketing?

2. What is Keyword Stuffing?

Keyword stuffing is the overuse of keywords on a webpage, blog or website. Keywords can be extremely useful and effective to your search engine optimization strategy when used properly. When used improperly, keyword stuffing in particular, can be detrimental to a webpage or website.

Keywords should be infused into a piece of content naturally. Most often, this means that the keyword or keyword phrase would be used only when appropriate, meaning that it contributes to how informative and engaging the piece of content is.

Let’s take a look at the difference between the natural and effective use of keywords and keyword stuffing.

Keywords Used Naturally

As many of you may be aware, keyword stuffing is an outdated digital marketing strategy. Our experts at IMP Digital Marketing are strongly against this method, as it can have an effect on your overall search engine optimization strategy. While keywords can prove to be very effective for your SEO, they must be used in a way that reads very naturally and adds value to the piece of content. To learn more about keyword stuffing and how to avoid it in your work, get in touch with us today.

Keyword Stuffing

Are you worried about keyword stuffing in your content? Keyword stuffing is an outdated practice that our team advises against. Keyword stuffing is quite obvious, as you will likely see the keyword or keyword phrases over and over again. Keyword stuffing often appears unnatural and is hard to read. 3. How Many Words Should be in a Blog or on a Page?

Generally, a blog or webpage should have a minimum of 500 words. For a more effective webpage or blog, we suggest to aim for about 1000 words. At the very least, you should ensure that each page on your website has an absolute minimum of 200 words. Not only can the right amount of words help your website and various webpages to rank better in search engines, but it can also provide the reader with more information about your business, industry, products, and/or services.

4. How Do I Put a Video on My Website?

To put a video on a webpage or blog, we suggest first uploading it to a video hosting website, such as YouTube or Vimeo. Once the video has been published to a video hosting platform, it can be embedded on your website. This practice is used to help ensure the consistency of the design on your webpage, as well as to reduce the risk of slower site speeds. The quantity and size of files on your webpage can greatly affect the speed and overall use of your website.

If you wish to only have the video visible on your website and not a video hosting platform, you may want to consider publishing as “unlisted”. This means that anyone with the link will be able to watch the video, but otherwise it will not appear on YouTube or Vimeo.

5. What is SEO?

SEO stands for search engine optimization. This digital marketing strategy can help your webpages and website as a whole to rank higher in search engine results, helping to place you naturally above the competition, increasing exposure, and improving profits.

6. What Social Media Channels Should I Have?

The right social media strategy can help to build a strong and consistent brand image online. We suggest having the following social media accounts:

  • Facebook Business
  • Google My Business
  • YouTube
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • Twitter

All of your social media platforms should maintain a consistent image. This includes accurate branding throughout, similar profile images, access to your website and other digital entities, and maintaining tone through content. When bringing your business online, we suggest acquiring these social media channels all at once, to ensure that the handles and names are as consistent as possible, and as close to your website domain and business name as you can.

7. What is the Best Time to Post on Social Media?

The best time and day to post on social media is up for somewhat of a debate. Some businesses find that certain days and times work great for them to reach and interact with their audience, while others may disagree.

At IMP Digital, these are the days and times that we recommend posting on social media:

Facebook

  • Monday to Friday at 11 A.M. and/or between 1 P.M. and 2 P.M.
  • Between the hours of 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. for your business
  • Best Day to Post: Wednesday
  • We suggest posting between three and four times a week

Instagram

  • Monday to Friday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M.
  • Best Days to Post: Wednesdays & Fridays
  • We suggest posting three to four times a week

As a best practice, we suggest posting no more than three to four times a week, as posting every day is no longer deemed necessary for a successful social media strategy. At an absolute minimum, we suggest posting at least once a week.

8. What is the Best Time to Send an Email?

Many digital marketing experts will share conflicting opinions on the best time and day to send an email. At IMP Digital, we agree that there is no standard for the best day or time to send an email. The effectiveness may depend on the nature of your business, industry, or the intent of the email itself.

For instance, a restaurant or food delivery service may choose to send an email at 3 P.M. on a Friday, which is when many families are planning their meal for the evening at the end of the work week.

The best way to find out what day and time is best for your business to send an email is through testing and tracking results. For each email, we recommend using the A/B testing method. This is where two variants of the same email are sent out, either at the same time or at different times, to each half of the intended email list. From the data collected, you can see which email performed better and then use that information to improve the success of future emails.

In saying that, there are many factors that can go into how well an email performs.

There are a number of other factors to be considered that can help to increase the number of people who open and read your email, boost the number of links that are clicked and opened from an email, and push recipients further through the sales funnel.

Other elements such as the email subject line, email content, load speeds, and links/buttons in the email can all have an impact. Ultimately, the best way to find out what works best for you is through testing.

9. What’s the Difference Between Paid Search and Organic Search?

The difference between organic search vs. paid search is simple: it’s the cost. While organic search focuses on unpaid rankings in search results, the paid search focuses on paid rankings. With organic search, companies use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to optimize their site’s visibility or rankings in search results. In comparison, paid search allows users to pay for a prominent spot in search results.
