IMP Digital Marketing Attends PubCon

Knowledge is power, and in an industry of ever-changing technology – the more information you have the better off you are! This year, Phil and Zak from the IMP Canada team hopped on a plane and headed off to Las Vegas to expand their horizons at PubCon 2013. PubCon is a week-long conference that covers the latest trends in social media, SEO, website design, and online branding. They got to listen to over 200 of the world’s best speakers in more than 150 stimulating classes.

Three topics that Phil and Zak especially found interesting were the recent changes in Google. They learned how they can affect your SEO rankings and how to use Google to a business’ full advantage. On the social media side of things, they learned some great strategies to use Facebook partner data and marketing data based on retail purchases. Last but not least, one of the biggest trends for online marketing continues to be mobile. It’s still hotter than ever as more users are on mobile devices compared to desktops.

Not only is PubCon a great place to learn, but it is also a great place to network. You never know who you will bump into, or who could be a potential client. Phil and Zak got a chance to talk to Dennis Yu from BlitzMetrics, which was a definite highlight of the trip. They both got to meet so many interesting people in the industry.

But in Vegas, it’s never “all work and no play”! The guys caught an outstanding Jabbawockeez show and got to experience the amazing energy and music of DJ Diplo at Encore nightclub.

When Phil and Zak returned home from Vegas, they were so excited to share all the firsthand information they received. All of us in the IMP team are thrilled to put this new knowledge into action. We hope our clients are looking forward to it as well!
