Hello, allow me to formally introduce myself as part of the IMP staff. That’s right, the intern got hired. HIGH FIVE! My name is Jen and I am a Jr. Content Writer at IMP Canada; I am now part of the highly talented staff here. Previous to getting hired, I completed a 3-month internship. This means coming into the office every day from 9 am to 5 pm and doing work for free. You may think that’s crazy – but this internship turned out to be a fabulous experience!
Before I was invited to come into the office and begin as an intern, I had to write a blog to show off my writing style. Thankfully IMP liked what they saw and I was asked to come in for an interview and from there I was offered to start as an intern. On my first day at the office, I was extremely nervous, and I was greeted by the friendly staff and everyone was super nice to me right away. Even though I was just an intern in the office, they included me in staff discussions and the regular office Monday meetings. I got to work at my own computer and shared an office with two other girls.
Since my time as an intern here, I have noticed my writing skills developing for the better and I am building great work habits. Some of the work I got to do was write blogs for client websites, write website content, and create social media content. I really enjoyed that I was able to work hands-on with real client work. It’s a hard adjustment making the transition from working on student projects to real client work. Every day as I worked harder and got more experience, I could see the quality of the work I was producing was improving.
When the staff at IMP Canada told me they would be hiring me on I was ecstatic. The work environment here is great and I can honestly tell you that I enjoyed coming to work every day. I would highly recommend anyone to complete an internship with IMP Canada. The experience and knowledge you will gain are invaluable.
